ERE Research Omnia-II CLR45 Disc Wheelset - Shimano

What if you can upgrade your road bike with all-road UCI-approved wheels? Ere Research's new Omnia II CLR45 are just that: carbon wheels that perform very well on the road and are strong enough for the occasional light gravel adventure. 

The biggest bang for buck wheels for your road bike? Meet Ere's brand new 45mm carbon aero rims, the Omnia II CLR45! The sleek wheels are fitted with Ere's latest 12mm thru-axle IONA hubs including a star ratchet body engagement system. With an internal rim width of 21mm you can fit all modern-size road tires (25 mm to 36 mm). 

New CLR45 Road rim

The Omnia II CLR45 wheelset uses a lightweight rim made of unidirectional carbon with a wider 21mm inner width and a 45mm rim height. That way you can easily fit wider road or gravel tires. Furthermore, the rim has excellent damping and anti-vibration characteristics.

Iona S hubs

Ere Research Iona S hubs are 100% in-house designed and built with precision manufacturing. The hubs are bulletproof and will practically run forever when properly taken care of. The straight-pull hubset has a low profile and a sturdy design. Its angled flange supports the directional torque going through the hub body, so it can take any beating.

Ere's trusted Iona S hubs are as light as possible, without compromising on strength and reliability. At the same time, they accomplished to maintain the structural integrity with a very thin wall design made from very high-grade aluminium. This results in weights as low as 242 grams for the rear hub and 113 grams for the front hub. The front hub uses a 100 x 12mm axle. For the rear hub they use 12 x 142mm axles. Axles are not included with the wheels.

The rear hub is paired to a 36 teeth star ratchet freehub body and is designed around 4 Ere custom cartridge bearings. Both front and rear hub are equipped with centerlock disc brake mounts.

Torque 2 design

The Ere Torque 2 design absorbs the forces that are transferred to the Iona S hubs  from the disc brake forces when braking. When the rear wheel gets torque from the hub body when pressure is applied through the chain and cassette, it directs those forces where the material is strongest. That way they can remove material where they can, and add material where needed.

Sapim Spokes

The front wheel comes with 20 aero-bladed Sapim CX Leader spokes paired to the rim with Sapim Double Square black alloy nipples. For the rear wheel they use 24 aero-bladed Sapim CX Leader spokes for extra stability under acceleration.

Tubeless-ready

The wheels are equipped with Ere ProClose tubeless rim tape for easy set-ups without inner tubes.
