Our Recommended Rides for locals and visitors to explore.

 1. The Brisbane Riverloop

  • Discipline: Road
  • Distance: ~40-50 km
  • Difficulty: Easy to Medium
  • Terrain: Flat with rolling bike paths and quiet backstreets.
  • The Route: Brisbane's ultimate classic. Start at Epic Cycles, head through the CBD, cross the Go Between Bridge, and follow the Brisbane River through West End, Dutton Park, Yeronga, and Indooroopilly.
  • Pitstop: Stop for a coffee at West End or the Regatta Hotel ferry terminal.
  • GPX - Epic Cycles // The Brisbane River Loop

 2. Mt Coot-tha Laps

Via the River                                                                                                                                        Via Bardon

  • Discipline: Road
  • Distance: ~10 km Loop (from the base)
  • Difficulty: Hard
  • Terrain: Steep, sustained climbing.
  • The Route: Test your legs on Brisbane's backyard peak. The traditional Front Side climb starts from Sir Samuel Griffith Drive (near the Botanic Gardens) and averages a grueling 9% gradient over 2.2 km. For a longer, steadier climb, try the Back Side from the gap.
  • Highlight: Enjoy panoramic views of the entire city from the summit lookout.
  • GPX - Epic Cycles // Mount Coot-tha Laps via the River
  • GPX - Epic Cycles // Mount Coot-tha Laps via Bardon

 3. Brookfield "Three Fingers"

  • Discipline: Road / Endurance
  • Distance: ~70 km
  • Difficulty: Medium to Hard
  • Terrain: Rolling country lanes, dead ends, and steep pinches.
  • The Route: Escape the city noise without travelling far. This route takes you deep into rural Brookfield. You will ride down three distinct, dead-end valley roads: Upper Brookfield Road, Gold Creek Road, and Savages Road.
  • Vibe: Peaceful, tree-lined roads with plenty of local wildlife and horse properties.
  • GPX - Epic Cycles // Brookfield ''Three Fingers''

 4. Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (BVRT)

  • Discipline: Gravel / Adventure
  • Distance: Up to 161 km (one way)
  • Difficulty: Easy (technically) to Hard (endurance-wise)
  • Terrain: Packed dirt, fine gravel, old railway sleepers, and farm gates.
  • The Route: Australia's longest rail trail tracks an old train line from Wulkuraka (near Ipswich) all the way to Yarraman. It is completely traffic-free and perfect for wide-tyre gravel bikes.
  • Top Section: Fernvale to Esk offers great scenery and plenty of country bakeries.
  • Pro Tip - Visit the Fernvale bakery either on the way up or back.
  • Recommended Stay - Rail Trails Refuge at Linville.
  • GPX - Epic Cycles // BVRT

 5. Mt Coot-tha Mountain Bike Trails

  • Discipline: Mountain Bike (MTB)
  • Skill Level: Green (Beginner) to Blue (Intermediate)
  • The Trail Network: Located just 15 minutes from the CBD, the Gap Creek Reserve sector offers dedicated, one-way single tracks.
  • Must-Ride Trails:
    • Rocket Frog: A fun, flowing beginner-friendly loop.
    • Pipeline: Fast, flowing berms and features for intermediate riders.
    • Birdwing: Great technical cross-country single track.
    • Dingo: Community favourite, fast and fun with a few rock gardens.
  • GPX - Epic Cycles // Gap Creek MTB Trails
